I've Got Some Exciting News!

Whewwwwww, okay, I've been keeping this news inside for a while, so pardon me if I seem a little shrieky, but, I'M HAVING MY FIRST GALLERY OPENING!

I'm pretty freaking excited about it. It's going to be at Garner's Frame Shop in East Memphis on Friday, January 4th starting at six and going on through the night. We'll have some live music, food and wine, so it'll be a fun evening. Come on out and say hello (and maybe buy a few prints) :-)

The feature of this show will the the rural Tennessee photography that I've been working on the last several months, but will also have some other stuff I've been working on.

Email me at JoyMarieHill@gmail.com with your address and I'll make sure that you get an invitation!

Be well, and enjoy the holidays!

Happy Birthday!

To one of my dearest friends, Coleman. The day you came to that Star Wars marathon at my apartment all those years ago was a glorious day indeed. Here's to many more birthdays!

The Plush Club

I had the privilege of photographing The Plush Club yesterday (a very cool up and coming band in Memphis)! Which means I've officially photographed my first band! These guys were a lot of fun to work with, and they even got in a dumpster for me. Troopers.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

Hello!

First off, I have (and have had for a while) a facebook photography page. If you haven't done so already, and you'd like to keep tabs on my photographic endeavors, then by all means 'like' my page! :)

Moving on, I do confess that having a handy dandy iPhone camera has made me a bit lazy. It's a hassle to carry around my DSLR and lenses with me, and I don't have them half of the time when I want them, so I've ended up getting pretty creative with my phone as of late. So, yes, I have indeed joined the iPhoneographer revolution (or whatever they'll call it in 20 years). However, I AM making a resolution to use my "real" camera more often :-)

Instagram Photography!

I'm blogging! Look at me go. I haven't done this in about six months so pardon me if I seem a bit rusty.

Those of you who follow my social media know that I've become rather addicted to Instagram as of late. Almost all of the photos below were taken with my iPhone and edited entirely on Instagram.
