Below is a photo from one of my more daring photographic ventures. In the summer of 2008, I was visiting Paula, and through a series of events I'm don't really recall, I decided I wanted to photograph a prostitute. Paula has done ministry work with these kinds of people, so she was an excellent person to show me where to begin this endeavor. We approached two women before the third consented to have her picture taken with a monetary compensation of $10. She was very nervous, and I only got 3-4 shots of her before she took off. It was an enlightening and sobering experience.
